JOB SUMMARY
The Video Montage Officer will be responsible for crafting compelling and impactful video content that showcases MedGlobal humanitarian efforts worldwide. This role involves collaborating with various departments to produce videos that tell powerful stories, inspire action, and raise awareness about global health crises. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, excellent editing skills, and a passion for humanitarian work.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Video Montage Officer will be part of MedGlobal’s HQ Communications Team and will collaborate closely with Communications Coordinators and the Graphic Designers in multiple countries and departments (original title I believe is senior comms officer) to produce original, high-quality audiovisual content for MedGlobal’s digital channels, marketing campaigns, advocacy initiatives, and public-facing events.
The Video Montage Officer will also provide hands-on technical support and guidance to field communications staff to strengthen local video production capacity and elevate overall production value.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including communications, marketing, and program teams, to gather necessary footage and information.
• Motion Graphics and Animation: Utilize expertise in motion graphics and animation to enhance video content and deliver dynamic and engaging visuals.
• Editing and Post-Production: Apply advanced video editing techniques, including color correction, sound editing, and visual effects, to produce polished final products.
• Content Strategy: Contribute to the development of video content strategies that effectively communicate MedGlobal’s work and impact.
• Content Development: Translate raw footage, interviews, and data into accessible visual narratives. Identify storytelling trends and formats suited to humanitarian communications. Develop scripts and storyboards that convey key messages with accuracy.
• Social Media Optimization: Ensure video content is optimized for different social media platforms, adhering to specific format requirements and best practices.
• Project Management: Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining high production standards.
• Equipment Management: Maintain and manage video production equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and up to date with the latest technology.
• Digital Asset Management: Maintain MedGlobal’s video assets through systematic ingestion, metadata tagging, and archiving of all raw footage, consent forms, and final projects. Ensure organized storage, consistent file naming, and version control.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on basic video production techniques and best practices.
• Video Toolkit Development: Design and maintain reusable video and motion graphics templates to streamline production workflows and ensure brand consistency.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Should have the following skills, education, and experience:
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in video editing and montage, preferably within a nonprofit or advocacy context.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro, as well as motion graphics and animation tools like After Effects. Skilled in color correction, sound editing, and visual effects. Familiarity with Adobe Essential Graphics (.mogrt) for creating and managing reusable motion graphics templates.
• Creative Skills: Creative Skills: Strong artistic vision and a keen eye for detail to produce visually appealing and engaging video content.
• Editorial and Storytelling: Strong editorial judgment with demonstrated experience in scriptwriting, narrative structuring, and refining content for clarity, accuracy, and impact.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. English is essential, Arabic a plus.
• Project Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Commitment to Humanitarian Causes: A solid understanding of humanitarian issues and a strong commitment to social causes.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and find creative solutions to video production challenges.
• Ethical Content Handling: Strong understanding of photo and video ethics in humanitarian contexts. Able to exercise sound judgment when handling imagery involving patients, children, or individuals in vulnerable situations. Familiar with ethical standards for consent, dignity, representation, and organizational guidelines for visual storytelling in crisis-affected settings.

Pay: $1,300 - $1,800 monthly
