JOB SUMMARY
The Foundation & Corporate Engagement Specialist is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing financial support from foundations, corporations, family trusts, businesses, and other mission-aligned organizations to support our medical relief programs. This role focuses on relationship-building, partnership development, and sponsorship outreach — with the goal of creating lasting, meaningful collaborations that advance the organization’s mission.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Partnership Development & Fundraising
- Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate partners and private foundations aligned with MedGlobal mission.
- Develop and pitch customized sponsorship packages for corporate partners.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of prospective partners and track engagement.
- Serve as primary relationship manager for corporate and foundation partners.
- Design and implement creative engagement opportunities with the help of MedGlobal team (employee giving, volunteer programs, cause marketing, symposia, conference, trips).
- Represent MedGlobal at networking events, conferences, and donor meetings.
- Organize site visits and partnership cultivation events.
- Collaborate and work closely with the MedGlobal team (Grants, fundraising, communication, programs) to translate engagement into funding opportunities based on MedGlobal priorities and needs.
- Expand MedGlobal visibility within Chicago's philanthropic and corporate communities.
- Leverage professional networks to identify new partnership opportunities.
- Engage with business associations, corporate giving councils, and affinity groups.
- Develop and execute donor recognition strategies.
- Support MedGlobal Humanitarian Faith Initiative and other strategic initiatives that partner with corporate and foundation through visibility, engagement, and collaboration.
- Recruit and oversee interns to support engagement, initiatives and campaigns.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in development, fundraising, or partnership management.
- Proven ability to build relationships and secure support from corporate or foundation partners.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong research, planning, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with the philanthropic and corporate landscape in Chicago is a plus.
- Passion for humanitarian work and global health equity.
- This position is based out of Chicago, IL.
- Occasional travel may be required to attend events and meetings.
